CDA Faculty, Location, & Attire

Lauren B. Goodman, Director of Children's Dance Academy, holds a MA in Dance Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a BFA in Dance from Belhaven College. Her experiences include performance, arts administration, and teaching in studio, educational and outreach settings. She has performed with Martha Connerton/Kinetic Works, Living Water Dance Company, and Charlotte City Ballet across the southeast area. She has performed internationally with Belhaven Dance Ensemble and Arts Triumphant. Mrs. Goodman held the position of International Dance School Administrator for the 2006 USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS. She has been on the faculty of North Carolina Dance Theatre School of Dance, Children's Community School in Davidson, NC, and local dance studios in NC. She helped develop dance outreach programs with Redeemer PCA and Neighborhood Christian Center in Jackson, MS and with Zion Center for Worship and the Arts in Charlotte, NC. Her dance training includes Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, North Carolina School of the Arts, and Charlotte City Ballet.

Jenn Sallade holds a BS in Elementary Education from Grove City College.  While at Grove City she also participated in the school’s Orchesis Dance Troupe as dancer, choreographer, head choreographer, and competition director.  After college Mrs. Sallade taught dance locally for 3 years.  She has also choreographed for after-school clubs at Lancaster Mennonite School and Plumstead Christian School.  She was the musical choreographer at Plumstead’s elementary campus as well as at Moon Area High School in western PA.  Mrs. Sallade joined the staff of Burn Brae Day Camp of Creative Arts in Dresher, PA for the summer of 2007 as a dance teacher. Her dance training started at a young age from small studios including Carol Leone, Inc. in the Pittsburgh area.

Mrs. Sallade also taught elementary school for six years at Lancaster Mennonite School and Plumstead Christian School.  For the 2010-2011 school year she taught Science and Creative Movement at Claritas Referta in Bryn Mawr. 

Kelly O'Leary holds a BS a in Physics from Grove City College. Mrs. O’Leary, Pittsburgh native, has been dancing since the age of three training at Carol Leones Inc. and Just Dance Conservatory under Anita Giovengo. At Grove City College she acted as dancer, choreographer, head choreographer and the artistic director for Orchesis, the school's dance program, both her Junior and Senior years. Mrs. O’Leary returned to Just Dance as a teacher and assistant artistic director and taught high school Physics and Physical Science for four years at Montour High School. She has continued her professional development dancing with the Ampersand Revival Company, The Pillow Project, and Bodiography in Pittsburgh.

Girls: Children's classes require a leotard, pink tights, and leather ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled back away from the face. Beginning Ballet and Ballet 1 students should wear their hair in a ballet bun. Ballet skirts are optional.

Boys: Children's classes require a white T-shirt, athletic type shorts or pants, and leather ballet shoes.
